Which Doctor Should I See?

Under our National GP contract, patients are registered with the practice as a whole and not with a named doctor. However, for better continuity of care and a more personal service, the practice continues to operate personal lists, with each patient seeing their own GP. You do have the right to express a preference as to which GP you would like to register with and this should be stipulated on the patient registration form.

Dr Muthu and Dr Suntharalingam work as a job share and patients should be prepared to see either GP. Similarly, Dr Suntharalingam looks after Dr Orton’s patients on Tuesdays and Dr Holbrook's patients on Wednesdays.

We will endeavour to ensure that you always see your preferred GP, but trust you will appreciate that this will not always be possible.

Our female GPs, Dr Muthu and Dr Suntharalingam, are happy to see any patients of Dr Orton or Dr Holbrook who would rather see a female doctor for a particular problem, usually as a one-off consultation. Similarly, any male patients registered with Dr Muthu or Dr Suntharalingam who would rather see a male doctor for a particular problem can request this.
